Echelon/The Georgia Tech Club---Alpharetta, GA

Previously, this golf course ranked as the biggest disappointment of my golfing career.  The last time I played it
(2007 or 2008 something like that), it was hyped to me as great golf course.  So, I made arrangements to play it and
it was awful.  Mostly centered on a bankruptcy that left the club with no funds to maintain the course.

However, in November of 2011 I returned.  The club apparently has found some funding and fixed all the
maintenance issues.  Bunkers were great, greens were perfect, the place was playable and very nice.

The course still isn't perfectly suited for my golfing tastes, but it is much better than before.  For starters, the routing
is up and down massive rolling hills and green to tee transitions are very long.  So walking is out.  Secondly, the
holes are set up for some ball busting golf shots with EXTREME penalty for marginal shots...not bad shots...marginal
ones.  And the elevation changes are too much for my taste.

But having said that, someone looking to play on a beautiful setting and have an extremely difficult challenge laid
out for them will enjoy Echelon.
