The Creek Club---Lake Oconee, GA
-71st best residential course and 19th best new course (Golfweek)
This is the private club at the esteemed Reynolds Plantation complex of courses. I had the privilege of playing this
course with a couple members in the recent past.
The course is extremely playable and enjoyable. Being part of the Lake Oconee stable of courses, I expected more
water to come into play, but that wasn't the case.
My memories of the course included the fact that it was heavily bunkered (fairway and greenside) and had many
sloped areas surrounding the greens and fairways. Frankly, most of these slopes push the ball into the fairway or
onto the green. Therefore, it is an extremely forgivable course.
If you are a hard core golfer looking for a test, this course is not for you. If you want to go out with friends and really
have a fun time putting up low scores, this is your courses. Fun and enjoyable is how I would describe The Creek
Club.
Jim Engh designed this course, which measures 6,490 yards on the 1/3 course and it has a rating of 70.2/130.
