Charlie Yates is an executive golf course located in downtown Atlanta. If you choose to walk 18 holes, you will only
have to shell out $27. Given the course was designed by Rees Jones and it is maintained by a crew of people with
aspirations of stepping up to Charlie Yates' sister course, East Lake, the course is well designed and well
maintained. It is, by far, the best executive course I have ever played. In fact, it beats out some full length course I
have played as well.
I've already stated the maintenance is very solid, but the greens and bunkering are very high quality as well.
Given that it is an executive course, you won't see any par 5's. But there is a wide variety of challenges among the
par 3's and 4's. You will see holes playing downhill and holes playing uphill.
You will have to carry water and keep from going over the green and into the water.
For what it is, Charlie Yates is an excellent golf course. Additionally, it is the home of The First Tee in Atlanta. Good
stuff through and through is present at Charlie Yates!!!
