Pinehurst #8 is a Tom Fazio designed course built to honor the 100th year anniversary of the Pinehurst Resort.
Unlike many of the other courses at Pinehurst, it isn't located at the main clubhouse. It is just a short drive through
town to reach #8, but rest assured the drive is worth it as the course offers a different feel than some of the other
course at Pinehurst and is a pleasure to play.
Domed greens, strategic bunkering, and almost no water seems to epitomize many people's thoughts relative to
Pinehurst. Well, #8 offers a slightly different twist. The greens are more "normal", there certainly are well-placed
bunkers, and there are definitely some heroic water carries for the golfer to enjoy. And also unlike the traditional
Pinehurst courses, this course seems to play through the North Carolina woods. It offers a unique and nice change
of pace for the Pinehurst golfer.
Here is a more traditional Pinehurst hole on #8...
Here is a par 3 with water in the background and a FLAT green...
How about a forced carry...
And how about a half hidden green and a tucked pin...
#8 measures 6,698 yards from the blue tees and is rated 72.3/133 and is a GREAT compliment to the array of
course at Pinehurst.
