Legends Golf Course at Chateau Elan--Braselton, GA

The Legends Course at Chateau Elan is quite a unique golf course.  Although Dennis Griffiths is the designer, the
course itself is an amalgamation of the favorite holes of 3 golfing icons.  You see, Mr. Griffiths asked Gene Sarazen,
Sam Snead, and Kathy Whitworth to select six of their all-time favorite holes and he put them together to form a
championship golf course located on the premises of the northern Georgia winery/resort/up-scale neighborhood
that is Chateau Elan.

The course measures about 6,400 from the blue tees (which is what I played), but measures about 7,000 from the
tips with a rating of 72.5/132.  However, that yardage is a bit misleading.  You see there are a few short par 3's and
some shorter par 5's.  Therefore, the course is sneaky long.  The par 4's have some length to them and although
some of the par 5's are shorter in total distance they have many doglegs and the fairways are quite tight.  So, you
must hit the ball straight.

Being that the course is located at the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains its is quite beautiful and very hilly.
Therefore, a flat lie is a rare thing.  Furthermore, in addition to the natural beauty of the course the bunkering that
Mr. Griffiths employed certainly enhances the courses beauty.

In short, the course is fun to play and quite a challenge.
